This hella-fresh interpretation of a German Festbier is a touch hoppier and maltier than tradition would dictate. We used our favorite floor malted pilsner, Barke Vienna, and Caramunich, fermented cold, and lagered it on French Oak spirals. You get a hit of oak flavor then a bit of body and tannin with the silky body already in Hellafest. Finishes snappy and bold with notes of fresh baked white bread and a hint of caramel.

4 oz pour on draft at Dominion Wine & Beer. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas and tastes of malt, wheat, corn. Light body with a dry finish.

Draft pour at Dominion Beer and Wine's upstairs restaurant. Poured a super clear yellow-orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, some herbal character, with a touch of floral hops. Light sweetness. Really nice Festbier. Crisp. Not to heavy. Not to much malt. Light earthy hops.
