Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, ginger. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, ginger spicy, good balance of roasted and ginger, soapy notes. Cask at Cask, Pub & Kitchen, London. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of ginger and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of ginger and roasted malt, leading to a dry gingery finish.

Cask at Craft Pub and Kitchen Glowing pitch black with lace. Aroma of ginger, chocolate, coffee. Interesting, with lots of ginger. Roasty flavor of coffee, café au lait, ginger. Sweet, with honey and some lemon. Crisp too, and the ginger works nicely, giving a prickly, burning finish.

Cask at Windsor Locale festival 2011. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a smallish beige head on top. Malty, ginger aroma. Tastes malty, sweet, ginger, hints of coffee and chocolate. Really drinkable, nice stuff.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown beer with a few brown bubbles for a head. Nice ginger nose. A little dark malt with a trace of chocolate. Nice fresh ginger that is flavoursome and really not hot. Semi dry finish. Decent!
