Taster at Colorado Plus. Pours black, with a small to medium, bubbly, tan head. The nose is black coffee, anise, burnt toast, and maple. Dryish, with a burnt bitterness. Medium body, with a harsh, sticky palate. This is a solid stout, if a little aggressive.

From old tasting notes. Opaque black color. Thick nice brown head. Lovely "Cocoa Puff" malt nose. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor is intense and full bodied.ma real mouthful. Rich chocolaty finish.

Beerfest notes: Chocolatey and dry. Very smooth. Rich and in the end pretty tasty stuff. Controlled tasting notes: Dark almost black color, with red tint and tan head. Very rich and thick. Strong roasted aroma and flavor, and notably sweet. A bit tannic and ultimately a little over the top.
