Sometimes, there are people you can't help but have an undying affinity for. Such is the case with all the wonderful humans at both Mikerphone Brewing and Great Notion Brewing. Since everyone was in town for the Invitational, we thought, "Hey, let's get crazy and make a stout that combines the best elements of all three!" Hence, Breakfast for Three was born (we tried to combine the names, but to no avail...Smells Like Double Stackromatic? Stacking Achro Beans? Oof.)
It is exactly what you'd expect: a thick, sticky 10.5% ABV stout packed full of maple syrup and Peruvian coffee roasted locally at Zoe's. Your breakfast beer has arrived.

Pint can, 2019 vintage. Sweet maple syrup aroma with notes of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention and little lacing. Starts with maple syrup and roasted malt flavors as well as having a rich, full body and silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes silky smooth with chocolate and coffee flavors. Held up quite well for its age and the coffee wasn’t overbearing. Good stuff.

16 oz. can. Pours black, with a medium sized, tan head. The nose is maple syrup, light and lovely coffee, vanilla, and dark cocoa. Sweet and syrupy, with a mild, pleasant bitterness. Fairly heavy body, with a velvety, smooth, and creamy palate. This is a lovely, enjoyable, and nicely focused and balanced stout. Just excellent!
