Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Bottle, 6%. Weak metallic and sweet aroma. Black colour. Small tan head. The flavour is weakly roasted, but has more of a teaish hoppiness. Perhaps a little lactose, but I do not get much barrel flavour or even much vanilla. The mouthfeel is a tad watery for the ABV, but the flavour is not bad.

Bottle. Almost clear almost black liquid with small light tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, light oak, light smoke, caramel, dried fruit and light ash. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of caramel, oak, light cinnamon and dried fruit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty good.

Black color with a beige head, good retentiona dn nice lacing. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, licorice and black coffee. Flavor is roasted, burnt wood, black coffee and chocolate with hints of ashes. The final is dense with some dry mouthfeel and light bitterness.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque very dark brown to black color with a deep dark red glare coming through, average to medium sized beige head. Aroma is malts, lightly roasted malts, dark raisins. Taste malts, lightly roasted malts, a hint of raisins. Is there a hint of wood? Well, I think it’s because it says it has oak chips. Anyway, it’s not very good imo. Drinkable, but not very good.

Bottle @ benzai. Cola colour with a small off-white head. Smells freshly washed laundry, roasty, some cocoa, coffee. Tastes chocolate, roasty, slightly salty, some liquorice, sweet, soft, oak, slightly insense. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

Flaske fra Kihoskh (såvidt jeg husker) på RBHD-treff, Tau okt-14: brunsvart med kort lysebrunt skum. Myk, lekkert balansert og kompleks aroma med solbær, vanilje, lakris og sjokolade. Smaken følger naturlig opp, men etter hvert blir den litt flat og enkel og vanlijen får dominere. Halvtørr.

Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 6%. Surprisingly moderate aroma, only weak oaky and roasty notes, some sourish hints. Medium dry flavour, notes of chocolate, oak and vanilla. Nice enough to drink.

Shared bottle at RB/HD gathering at Tau 18.10.14. Dark brown Pale brown head. Aroma of citrus marmelade m, vanilla and dark chocolate. Lots of vanilla and dark chocolate in taste and aftertaste.

Bottle at Porterhouse Covent Garden - London. Pours clear, ruby-brown with a fine, tan cream head. Sugary dark malt nose with hints of dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with notes of milk chocolate, faint roast, subtle vanilla pods, bready dark malts, low bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Finishes sweet with light, dry cocoa, a bit more vanilla bean, hints of dry roast coffee, milk dark fruits. Not much barrel character. Easy to drink. Not bad.
