Shared crowler. Pours a clear, amber color, with a medium, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is smooth caramel, smoke, biscuit dough, and rye. Sweet and yeasty, with a bit of bitterness. Light to medium body, with a creamy, effervescent mouthfeel. This is a mellow, balanced, and enjoyable smoked lager. Nice.

500ml pour at the brewery - clear amber - lovely, rich, clean maltiness, with a hearty smoke that does not overpower or create the harshness you often find in some smoked beers - we're not talking schlenkerla levels of smoke, but it's really nice - certainly one of the best American made rauchbiers I've had.
