Taster at the brewery. Given to us by the brewer when they tapped the first keg. Pours a pale yellow, with a fair sized, frothy, white head. The nose is hay, cloves, bubblegum, lemon zest, and some floral and resinous hops. Sweet, but not too sweet, with a good drying bitterness that adds a good bite to the finish. Light body, crisp, dry, and clean. This is a sharp, very well made Helles lager. Akin to a light lager, but with perfect balance, brilliant palate, and engaging aroma. So, in short, nothing like a light lager.
