12 oz. bottle. Dark, hazy brown color, with a medium, tan head. The nose is caramel, ripe apples, cinnamon, pumpernickel, and cloves. Sweet and malty, with a good hop bitterness in the finish. Medium to heavy body, sticky, syrupy, and a little clingy. This is a nice, solid maerzen. The body is a little too heavy, and the flavor is a little too bitter, but still a nice beer.

Sample at the brewpub, this is the September selection in Elevator’s "MBA" program. Pours a clear orange color with a medium thin bone white head that dissipates steadily. Spots and strings of lacing. Caramel malt aroma with slight hops. Medium body with flavors of bready malt, caramel and grain. The finish is sweet and malty with a lingering caramel aftertaste. Decent brew overall.
