Initially brewed as part of a nationwide celebration of the 300th anniversary of Ben Franklin’s birth. In spite of the fact that Benjamin Franklin is constantly given credit for the quote “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy,” this line does not appear anywhere in Ben’s writing. But I’m certain he felt this way about his favorite beverage. Brewed with corn and molasses, two common brewing ingredients in colonial times, Poor Richards Ale is a modern interpretation of a beer Ben might have drank in one of his favorite taverns.
