Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead, ABV 4.7%. Copper coloured with a thin cream head; toasted grain aroma; soft and biscuity in the mouth, the honey adds a syrupy texture without being too sweet; the finish spicy and fruity with lingering honey. Rather subdued overall, but a pleasant pint.

Cask from The Railway Tavern, Chelmsford. Light brown with little head. Sweet and syrupy, though quite pleasant initially. Glad Iād only ordered a half as sweetness became a little overwhelming towards end.
