Brewed with our buddies over at Wise Man Brewing in Winston-Salem, this Nordic-style farmhouse ale uses a touch of juniper-smoked malt alongside a local grain bill to build layers of fresh evergreen, sweet caramel and bright fruit skins with a crisp body and a clean, snappy finish to offer up a unique take on a less well-known style.

Can shared at the Spring DC tasting. Poured a dark orange, kind of brownish-hued color with a small wispy head. Aroma was woody, juniper branches. Tastes very herbal - too much spruce and juniper. Herbal, with floral and a touch aged malts. Sorry guys.

16oz can pours a murky sepia, ring of white head. Nose has caramel, herbs, some esters, a little spruce. Flavor is caramel, herbs, hand soap, some fruit cake. Flabby finish.

From a pint can. Pours a hazy orange amber with an off white head. Aromas are woody and malty. Flavors are sweet rotting hay.

A little rough. Juniper and lime. Some fig. Murky orange pour with ok head. Some marmalade. Not quite a fan. Tangy finish with some booze. Can.
