Cask at the Euston Tap. Dark garnet pour with a sturdy, white cream head. Malty aroma, with some cinnamon and other wintery spices, sugarplums, and hazelnut. Lovely, spicy flavor with perhaps nuitmeg and cinnamon, along with gingerbread, and faintly bitter lemon. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dries out a good bit in the finish, with lingering spices, some ginger tang, and sweet bread, along with modest bitterness. Better than decent.

Cask, handpump at The Wellington, Birmingham 13-12-09 Pours chestnut with a slim white head. The aroma is malty and spicy. Taste is malty with demarara sugar, caramel and a dry bitterness which is quite subdued and comes through at the end. Fine enough but not quite up to the usual Thornbridge high standards.
