* Old Rating. 0,75l swing-top-bottle, best before 18.07.11. Malzig-würziger Antrunk. Nicht zu süßlich, schöne trockene Röstmalztöne, karamell, weiche Schokolade. Mild-intensiver Nachgeschmack mit einer leichten aber gut zum Gesamtbild passenden Herbe. Nett.

bottle with thanks to kappldav123. Deep brown colour, beige head. Lots of roasted malts, sligtly dry, with a touch of malty sweetness and hints of dried figs.

Röstiger, wenig wässriger Beginn. Geringe Herbe und Süße, nun konstant röstig. Mit der Zeit wird das Bier bei gleicher Aromenverteilung milder, leicht schokoladig. Dezent bitteres Finish, erdig, die Röstigkeit gefällt. Ein gelungenes Dunkles! 6/9/10/10/8/9

Draught at BBF12. Good bready aroma, hint of liquorice. Very dark brown colour, red shine. Good bready flavour, hint of earth. Mild but flavourful.

Toasted bread and caramel in the nose. About the same in the mouth. Long sweet toasted bread aftertaste.

Bottle 750ml. w. swing top.[ Neck label says also "Premium Schwarzbier" ]. Clear medium to dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, brown sugar. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration, thin roasted bitter, burnt caramel malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20110720]

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a beautiful clear brown with a beautiful orange hue and a creamy beige head. Roasty nose, a whiff of smoked malts. Medium body, a pleasant roastiness, some burned caramel, a whiff of cardboard and again a solid hop finish. 200711

75 cl bottle, bought at the brewery. Looks simple but good. Strange, the label says "Dunkel" but also "Schwarzbier". Beer in the glass very dark, almost black. Starts intense malty, modest dry, some notes of dried fruits. Finish milder, soft-malty, not too dry. Well balanced and drinkable. Not bad!
