11.2 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a deep dark brown / black with a medium beige head. Aroma of toasted nuts, milk, light chocolate malt, wood, tobacco, and with a strong bourbon component underneath. Flavour is not so pleasant, with tobacco, cloying licorice sweetness, charred malts, faint chocolate and some milky quality - but the tobacco and sweetness dominate. Much preferred the original Existent.

Bottle. Pours black with an off white head. Nose of sweet bread, oak and vanilla. Taste is very woody with lots of sweet bread, vanilla, cocoa, light sourness, yeast and a light roasted barley finish. Medium body.

Thanks to lithy, I had an opportunity to try this at the 2nd Pgh Tasting on the 2nd. I am greatful for his generousities! Froma small 11.2 oz bottle. Big foamy pour that fades rapidly. Slightly dark. Sweet bready aroma. First tasteis big strong alky laced flaovrs. Does not hide its 8% well. Yes, the bourbon is in there fer sure. Some tartness or sourness way back in the background hiding from you. Long, almost medicinal finish with a slight tart background. Peraps I do detect a tad of porter in there someplace. Finish is in your face strong ale, you know it. Thanks justin for the chance to taste this rarity.

Draft at Paradiso Dupont. Very dark brown, thick tan head with great retention, a pleasant surprise for a barrel aged beer. Aroma of whiskey, vanilla, cocoa, in that order. Taste is coffee liqueur, chocolate, somewhat boozy finish. Nice complexity and character, not over the top as some bourbon barrel beers tend to be. Improves the base beer, which was already very tasty.
