Tool Shed Root Porter. The robust porter brewed with 2row, Caramunich and chocolate wheat malt. Bittered lightly with Southan Farms hop hash and fresh white birch bark added to the kettle. Finally adding Sassafras, sarsaparilla, vanilla beans and sweet gale.

Can from the brewery. Pours as a porter should but not much head. Toasted malts, chocolate sweet noted. Sweet malt, with chocolate, vanilla that sarsaparilla coming through. The finish is sweet, with bitterness and vanilla showing up late. Interesting, a little sweet for me but that checks with the root beer aim here. Interesting and for a spice beer not too badly done.
