Pilsner was originally created in the town of Pilsen, now in the Czech Republic. The trifecta of soft local water, revolutionary malting techniques, and local Saaz hops created the most recognizable beer style today. Bready flavors mixed with an herbal undertow make this beer an instant classic.

Clear pale from a $3 can at total wine. Constant streaming co2 in the eye. Fresh slightly sharp pils nose. Taste? At first, its a little fruity then some of that pilsner bitter bite sets in. Mind you, its not overly or terribly sharp, like so many poorly made domestic attempts; its more like the real thing from the old country. Perhaps maybe it approaches the mildness of the macro american lagers that call themselves pilsners, hehehehh. Rather medium mild in personality, and I like that. Going down fairly easy. Good level of co2 throughout, but could use more. In the middle. But yet, on the finish, the medium sharp bitter pils bite never lets you forget it truly is a real pilsner. Not bad overall.

Can only has best by date but is well within its range A: Brassy pale gold with a thick white head that fell fairly fast. S: Bready and floral notes with hints of herbs and fresh apple. T: Bitter hops hit first with herb and pine, then toasty bread and wood join for a balanced bittersweet end. M: Medium light with stiff carbonation and clean, slightly dry finish. O: Everything is in place to make this a balanced, great tasting pils.
