Although it calls itself "International Pale Ale", this delicious and aromatic ale is not hoppy enough to fit the profile. We are US importers of the beer and working with the brewery to rebrand Aurea as "Iberian Golden Ale" - light, bright, superbly aromatic with strong notes of green guava, ripe melon, muscatel grapes with creamy yet prickling effervescence. Delicious Ale but not an APA or an IPA. Available in USA through Shelton Brothers distributors in bottle and keg.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy golden with a dense and lively off-white head with some lacework. Citrusy and rather perfumy nose but definitely some aroma hops at work. Medium body, a little sweet fruit, a whiff of yeast, good aroma hops and a dry but not overly bitter finish. 140113

02/12 0.33 l bottle @Cerveceria Europa (L’Europe), Madrid. It poured hazy amber to orange body with a big head. Strong aroma of herbal and orange hops. Flavor was more sweet than bitter, although still pleasant, fruity, biscuit, lightly herbal. Medium bodied, very smooth. Pleasantly bitter towards the aftertaste. A fine, pleasant, milder IPA.

Aroma is sweet malts, mild bready notes as well as some citrusy and wooden notes along with mild grassyness. Flavour is being rather similar with also alcohol coming through a bit.
