Dec. ’16. A 0.5 l bottle at Birra+, Rome. I believe this is the correct beer, the attached label fell off but the bottle looks and the rest sums up well. Fruity sour aroma, dark berries, dried fruit, plum jam, sour cider apple, some sweeter caramel and toffee. Flavor was sour but also quite sweet, if we took out the sweetness it would have tasted lemony like a Berliner Weisse. Sticky jam and caramel notes made it a bit fuller in body although still relatively thin. Notes of yeast and tart port wine. A bit messy but pleasant. Very high carbonation with longer sweetish finish. Alcohol is drowned with the sweetness and port-sherry tartness at It poured a hazy dark reddish brown body with a small brown head. Quite interesting, a bit too sweet for my taste and lightly messy but a decent beer anyway.

500ml bottle, lotto 12/10, bought at Johnny’s Off-License (Via Veio) more than two years ago. Shared with Finn and djoeye. Pours an opaque dark-red body. Tiny bubbly surface. Wood, forest and caramel on the nose. Ripe dark fruity taste mingled with bittersweet berries, nuts and caramel. Sweet and dry to the ending, not sour at all. In fact, it gets rather sweet in the long run. Well bodied. Nice, a bit disappointing though (at Finns in Tromsø, 05.08.2014).

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with a small, creamy off-white head. Caramellish nose, only a slight tart whiff. Rich body, rich caramel and wood with a subtle lactic tartness. Warming alcohol finish. Not really sour, appears more like a slightly infected Barley Wine. 130612
