Pour Winter Saison into your favorite stemware and watch as this elegant, dark brown beauty forms a long-lasting head of fine, aromatic, khaki-colored foam.
We sourced all local NJ @rabbit_hill_malthouse grains for this farmhouse ale, which is composed primarily of Pilsner, Munich, and rye malts. It was hopped lightly in the kettle with Fuggles and Chinook for balancing bitterness and a touch of woodsy, spicy, and herbal hop notes.
The nose is first greeted by spicy, expressive, Belgian yeast character followed by an abundance of dark fruits, specialty malts, and caramelized sugars. Despite its sweet, fruity aroma and flavors, this lighter bodied ale finishes quite dry.
We get notes of black cherry, raisins, graham cracker pie crust, candied figs, toasted rye bread, prunes, scorched brown sugar, forrest floor, black pepper, overripe banana, and cranberry chutney.

16 ounce can. Opaque brown color topped by a frothy tan head. Spicy, yeasty malt aroma. Flavor is toasted malt, plums, dark cherries, dark brown sugar, sultanas and a hint of hoisin sauce. Rich and flavorful with a long, dry, bitter finish. Quite unique and unlike any Saison I’ve yet to taste.

16 oz can from the brewery, canned 12/29/20, consumed 1/8/21. Pours a darker brown with a bit of a reddish hue. The head is tan, very creamy, and long lasting. Plenty of spice, some Belgian dubbel / quad type dark fruit (raisin, fig, etc.), and molasses / brown sugar as well. On the sweet side, warming alcohol, toasty bread. Pretty complex, interesting stuff. I feel like this one will age nicely.
