A full-bodied Double IPA that glows a magnificent hazy orange. Heavily dry-hopped with Jarrylo, Azacca, and Mosaic resulting in big notes of pineapple, mango, honeydew, and candy sweetness. Dangerously drinkable and surprisingly mellow - Consolation Prize is always a winner.

16 oz. can from CBC, Waterbury. Clear yellow color with a thin white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruits, orange peel and caramel.

The citrus is here with mild herbal hints. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The bitterness is strong but the major downfall is the amount of alcohol that is noticeable. I mean boozy as all hell. Also a harsh herbal astringency. I am still searching for any brew that I like from this brewery. Maybe they should stick to being bar owners. This is just really flawed. Not a prize in any form or fashion.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a golden semi-burnt yellow to orange color. Quickly dissipating slim foamy head. Messy sticky lacing.
The aroma had sweet tropical fruits punching some bitter citrus rind-like hops. Nice level of juiciness. Hop oils abound.
The flavor grabs the hop oils to invade the tropical fruits and citrus rind-like hops. Leans to some orange pulpy flavor. Sly juicy to hop oily aftertaste with a crisp hop oily finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good for what it is. Mild juicy bitterness. Hop oily smoothness.
Overall, really nice DIPA that I would have again.

Can pour into taster cup at One Stop Market 30th Anniversary. Appearance is dark yellow/light brown with massive sparkle, ring of white head with nice lacing. Aroma is tropical fruit, with an unusual, intriguing vinegary tart balance (strange but not bad). Taste is spicy, fruity, tart, resin bitter, earthy hops. Palate is medium bodied with thin texture, average carbonation with dry finish as taste with mix of sweet/bitter/tart. Overall, an intriguing and unique amount of complexity that works well together.

Pours a dark straw from a can. Big citrus aroma, juicy tropical fruit. Similar flavor, very juicy, almost syrupy, but somehow also thin for a IIPA. Good beer.

Got in a BIF from tasterschoice62. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy/dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy/dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and fairly grainy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy/dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
