Hybrid between a Russian Imperial Stout and Oud Bruin.
Opposites attract. This sweet sour marriage combines the viscosity and robustness of a Russian Imperial Stout with the winy delicacy of our flemish red ale. Tasting this beer is like a Sovjet bombardment on your senses that throws you from Moscow to Modena and back, to find balanced somewhere in the middle. The aroma reveals chocolate, raisins and Syrup de Liège, with a sense of port wine. The thick, sweet start creates the expectations of an antitussive that pampers the throat. The tantalizing sourness when you swallow, though, crushes that expectation immediately, so you have to start all over again. Comrades, unite and drink this oil of brotherhood!

Fat på Örebrewfest 2019, session 2. Backlog. Riktigt läcker kombo detta! Stora, rostade toner från stouten med massor av choklad och toffee möter djup syrlighet från bruinen. Balsamico och portvin. Supergott!

Loads of vinegar in the aroma. Taste is similar, but has some stout there too. Original!

Opaque almost black. Not really a had. Coffee and balsamic nose. Cocoa powder with mild coffee and a flanders oud bruin sourness. Lovely but also heavy. Alcohol embedded but feelable.

Svart med høyt brunt skum. Lukter rett og slett balsamico. Skikkelig sur og veldig søt. Balsamico og brunt sukker. Lang.

Bottle. Almost black. Balsamico vinegar dominating the aroma. Full bodied, initial malty sweetness and roast, but the balsamico vinegar dominanties the flavor, so there is not much room for anything elso. Pleasant sourness, the alcohol remains unnoticed. Excellent, challenging beer.

Opaque dark brown beer, good dark tan head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, nice touch of dark chocolate. Balsamico! No doubt about it! However, it's delivered in such a smooth way, no vinegar acid, just a sweetish and quite fruity balsamic. Light finish. Weird! Because it tastes so Balsamic but with none of the sting or sharpness of real vinegar. Neither is this beer sour, so it's current style rating makes no sense. Good fun and quite moorish.

Cedar. Modena oil. Raw cacao. Marzepan. All from the aroma. Taste is blackcurrant. Soft milk chocolate bars. Cream espresso. Some alcoholic burn. Not much Modena on the flavour. Finish is cedar and long with summer fruits. Pass ciabatta please. #sxshare

Bottle picked up from Dranken Vande Woude, Pervijze-Diksmuide consumed at home Attenkirchen, Sunday 9th June 2019 cooking Beef/Pork and Feta Burgers with little potato cubes and listening to Amyl and the Sniffers self titled new album. The balsamic and sour notes and flavours jostle well with what I assume is a big beefy stout based beer, fruity, tangy it's good and amazingly drinkable for a 12.5% beer. Sweet and sour throughout, good.
