Grand Cru is our very special Belgian-style dark ale. Imported malts give it a round malty richness, and the fruity complexity and slightly spicy character come from brewing with a proprietary Belgian yeast strain. Don’t let the name fool you; while it may be a special occasion beer, this medium-bodied, elegant incarnation is anything but snobbish.
Suggested food pairings: Roasted chicken with thyme, braised short ribs, oven roasted vegetables, grilled sweet potatoes, roaring 40′s blue cheese, bread pudding.

Brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, and raisins. Very sweet, too sweet brown sugar and dried fruit flavour. Too sweet, and not complex enough

Bottled 650ml (PBF, BB 03/2012)
Clear dark ruby color, small off-white head. Caramelly, berryish aroma. Medium-bodied. Very sweet berryish and ryeish, Very sugary - of course hiding ABV very well - but where is "Grand Cru"?

Bottled. Hazy mahogany colour, minimal head. Evident aroma of cinnamon and marzipan. Full bodied, sweet and candyish with marzipan and Mars bars as well as strawberry bubble gums. Crispy caramel and rye bread is there too. Drier finish. Candyish and intense, but never cloying.

Candi, figs, and cherries on the nose, with a tinge of tartness. Clear red rust, thin cream colored head. Medium body, candied fig flavor, approaching dates toward the end. On the sweet side, almost cloying. Plum skins in the finish. Probably very versatile in pairing with rich foods. Drinks better a little warm as cinnamon hints appear and candi and malt comes into better balance. I’d like to see a little less candi and more malt, but this was decent.
