Grand Cru is our very special Belgian-style dark ale. Imported malts give it a round malty richness, and the fruity complexity and slightly spicy character come from brewing with a proprietary Belgian yeast strain. Don’t let the name fool you; while it may be a special occasion beer, this medium-bodied, elegant incarnation is anything but snobbish.
Suggested food pairings: Roasted chicken with thyme, braised short ribs, oven roasted vegetables, grilled sweet potatoes, roaring 40′s blue cheese, bread pudding.

Bomber from Imbibe Wines. Nose of toffee, caramelized sugar, yeast, alcohol, and raisins. Clear rusty brown with a big tan, heavy lacing head. Flavor is boozy alcohol with sweet caramel.

Pours a deep, red brown colour with a thick and creamy head. Sweet, malty aroma with notes of dark berries. Flavour is malty and very sweet with notes of ripe, dark berries and licorice. Alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Clear brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Smooth palate. Creamy fresh malt turning from sweet to quite sugary. Some sublte fruits come in to play, also very sweet. Finishes with more creamy malt and just a touch of pepper. A pretty sweet Grand Cru but it’s never sickly. Holds together well and hides it’s abv superbly. Very drinkable.

Bomber from De Bierkoning. Beautiful redbrown color with lasting beige head. Aroma’s of sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, red fruit. Flavor is malty/toffee sweet. Pretty strong alcohol feel. On the sweet side, but I quite like it.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a dark, clear ruby with ample tan head. The aroma is roast nuts, dark fruits, apples, and a little coffee. The flavor is very sweet. The palate is heavy and sticky, with a little carbonation. Overall, a strong and sweet beer.

Tap @ GD taproom. Pours dark golden / amber with a good offwhite head. Aroma of sweet fruit, raisins, strawberries, sugar,belgian yeast. Taste is caramel, fruit, honey, spices, honey and vanilla. Medium body, soft carbonation. Overall a complex beer, but abit to sweet for my liking. 200211

Pours bright mahogany into a tulip. Medium head recedes leaving spot lacing to skim surface. Sweet, dark caramel and toasted nut bread aromas. Sweet medium-bodied caramel and soaked pit fruits with a lasting sweet toast burn.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours ruddy mahogany (really red) with a creamy beige head. Smells like aged dark malt with a touch of wood. Med + body. Sweet dark fruits and malt. A bit sweet, but there’s some earthy bitter offsetting. And a touch of coffee. And chocolate. There’s a lot going on here.

On tap at TapWerks OKC. Pours a dark amber with a small frothy off white head with nice sticky lacing. The aroma is a sweet raisin malt vanilla and oak. Medium mouthfeel with a vanilla oak taste and nice finish. Easy to drink hiding the alcohol well, a very good Belgian strong ale from Great Divide.
