Highpoint DIPA is triple dry hopped, predominantly with Galaxy and rounded out with Citra and El Dorado, for a tropical fruit aroma and flavors of pear and citrus. Hazy, full-bodied, and full-flavored, Highpoint DIPA finishes clean and allows the hops to shine.

Deep and hazy golden and peach coloured body with a relatively thin tan head, only perhaps a single centimetre tall, if that. Aroma of super pungent alcohol, deep astringency, a lot of citrus and grapefruit notes and a solid amount of malt and biscuits. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malt and biscuit notes with a deep herbal and grassy bite along with a lot of astringency and alcohol, especially at the end. Aftertaste is deep, very bitter (more from the malt than the hops) and super dry throughout, with a lot of herbal funk and pungent malt notes finish this one and the hops capitalise on everything with a lot of alpha acid and old school bitterness in this. Overall, a very deep and astringent beer with a lot of funk and dry characteristics throughout, but the grapefruit, herbal and grassy bitterness is the strongest here - with at least 8 per cent alcohol noticeable at the end. Nice to try, but not the best Imperial IPA nor worth even seeking out. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 05-September-2019 for US$3,49 sampled at home in Washington, just a day later on 06-September-2019.
