Apparently this is the base beer for the Jefferson’s Reserve. Served on cask at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a pitch black color with a creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus hops and roasted malts. The taste is chocolate, nutty notes, roasted malts, citrus hops and anise. Very mild bitterness. Medium bodied.
