Served on draft at the Shirlington location. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, spicy notes and toffee. The taste is toffee, candi sugar, clove, bread, plum and berries. Medium bodied. nice beer.

Dark copper coloured body with a real thin tan head. Aroma of strong pit fruit, malt, yeast, caramel and toffee. Very nice smell-perhaps one of the nicest brewpub beer smells i’ve ever encountered. Medium to Full-bodied; Spicey flavour with sweet burnt sugars and a good malty taste with yeast & spices noticeable. Aftertaste sweet, but still showing malt and alcohol. Overall, a nice beer-a good attempt, more tinkering with the recipe is needed, however. Thanks to my brother-in-law, Andy for letting me sample this one poured from the Growler purchased earlier in the day on 09-January-2005 from the Shirlington (Arlington), Virginia location.
