Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 11/11/09. Deep brown with a slight tan head. Roasty aroma with some milk chocolate. Flavour was malty, with more roastiness and some sweet dark fruits, leading to a dry finish. I couldn’t detect coffee either, but it was pleasant enough.

Cask at The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon, 07-11-09 Had this with the Large Breakfast, I always go fo the Large Breakfast and can state quite categorically that I’ve never yet completed one, anyway back to the beer. Pours conker brown with a rim of tan bubbles. Some burnt toast in mouth and on nose, bitter coffee, its malty and roasty and nicely bitter. Good beer. In the mouth is dark chocolate but then there is a creaminess, and there is also some light cappuccino flavours. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

From cask at Charlies. Pours deep brown/black with a little chocolate brown head. Slight fruity aroma, mild note of malt and some coffee. Flavour is mild fruity with a little note of coffee, rather faint. Mellow and lingering coffee and malt flavour in the finish with a solid bitterness.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A dark brown beer with a red shine under a tan head. The aroma is sweet avnd very malty with notes of coffee and chocolate as well as a light acidity from the coffee. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of coffee, giving it a slight acidity, leading to a nice dry bitter coffee like finish.
