Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a dark hazy chestnut brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of cherries, toffee and whisky. The taste is tart cherries, citrus and faint whisky. Medium bodied.

A thick beer. Bourbon in the aroma and the flavor, but what is there works well with the medium-sweet malts. Generally I wouldn’t like a bourbon beer, but this one is drinkable. I did not pick up the Belgian yeast.

Sampled from the tap at the 2010 GTMW. Poured a cloudy brown with a yellowish brown head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was mainly sweet grains but there was a darker underlying note with some caramel and just a hint of bourbon. Flavor began sweet with caramel and sweet grains but became darker with some bourbon and even a hint of vanilla in the finish.
