Eisbock 28 is an ice processed winter warmer. This rich lager is aged for months at temperatures well below freezing and is a deep gold color and has a smooth and malty flavor with bittersweet complexities. This highly unique beer is unlike any other and to our knowledge Redhook is the only American Brewer currently brewing it. This traditional winter beer is very drinkable, even with its high alcohol content and is perfect before or after dinner.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear amber with a small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a caramel malt, raisin, and cereal. Medium mouthfeel with a light malt and caramel with the alcohol present and burned a little. A good Eisbock from Redhook.

Bomber from ericandersnavy. Pours mahogany/ruddycopper with a smear of tannish bubbles. Aroma is very malty. Full bodied; foamy carb. Flavor is cooked malt, something near maple, something like blood orange. Heat is ever present, but it isn’t "hot". Maybe just a touch of treacle. It’s sweet, but oddly the alcohol seems to stand in for bitter to balance the malt. Wowser.

Pours deep garnet into a stem glass. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface leaving spot lacing. Nutty caramel aromas. Sweet dark caramel and pit fruits from front to back. Lasting burn in the finish.

An 11% Eisbock in a bomber, hello friend. 22oz-er pours clear amber – copper with tan head. The aroma emits a pleasing array of prunes, ripe cherries, figs, concentrated plum juice and sweet caramel candy in the background. The taste begins silky smooth and slowly grows to a modest level of roughness with ripe cherries, plums, figs and over ripe peach as well as a thin layer of smooth sweet caramel candy. It ends with a mild pulse of spicy yeast and boozy roughness that adds balance to the sweet onslaught.

pression @ OTH. Couleur, cuivre/acajou, mousse beige.
