Eisbock 28 is an ice processed winter warmer. This rich lager is aged for months at temperatures well below freezing and is a deep gold color and has a smooth and malty flavor with bittersweet complexities. This highly unique beer is unlike any other and to our knowledge Redhook is the only American Brewer currently brewing it. This traditional winter beer is very drinkable, even with its high alcohol content and is perfect before or after dinner.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of scrizzz. Pours a clear warm amber with a small off-white head. Sweet, fruity and perfumy hop aroma. Solid body, very sweet caramel, some sulphur and salt with a solid hoppy finish. Like a Heller Bock on speed really. 180311

22 oz. bottle, pours orangey amber with essentially no head. Aroma of toasted malt and herbs. Flavour of caramel, syrup, lifesavers and cloying sweetness. This isn't working for me - not so great.

2010 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a syrupy and hazed bronze-copper body and a medium but fading creme tan head. Aromas of caramel, raisins, oatmeal, cereal, honey, buckwheat, alcohol, stewed oranges, rotten fruit. Flavors of alcohol, diacetyl, butter, butterscotch, ritz crackers, oranges, pretzels, and caramel. Messy at best. Boozy and super syrupy. Medium to light bubbles. Rough.

On tap @ he brew pub. Transparent amber color with a thin white head. Very soft carbonation and the head dissipates quickly leaving almost no lacing. Pleasantly sweet nose with aromas of brown sugar, malt and molasses. Alcohol heat is noticeable and to be honest, It’s very unbalanced. It gets so sweet as it warms, it is nearly undrinkable. Over the top sugar, caramel malt. And at 10% ABV you can’t drink this fast. I wouldn’t buy again.

22 oz bottle shared by Indra. Pour is a mostly clear golden amber with not much of an off white head. Aroma is sweet malt, alcohol heat, and in the back some sharp grassiness. Taste is the sweet malt, herbal, along with some bright alcohol in the finish. Hot, sweet, though somewhat integrated. Palate is medium, pretty high carbonation, finishes sweet with alcohol heat. Thanks for sharing and hosting Eric.
