Cask at the first Tap Into Virginia Cask Fest, Capital Ale House Downtown, 4/21/12. Pours pitch black with a thin head. Fair head retention. Aroma of rich roasted coffee, fruity notes, anise, vanilla, citrus and toasty notes. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, citrus, berries and a hoppy finish. Medium-full bodied, smooth, pretty damn good.
