Purchased at Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville, NC; enjoyed from my hotel room on the ocean in Myrtle Beach, SC. Appearance is a very dark cola like brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is very nice and subtle, obvious chocolate malt presence with oats, touch of coffee as well. Taste goes down very smoothly, one of the smoothest porters I’ve had. Chocolate and oats, maybe a touch of coffee bitterness, slightly rich, but mighty damn tasty. This one is awesome.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a medium, tan head. The aroma is coffee, molasses, caramel, pine, and bitter chocolate. The flavor is malty sweetness and slightly bitter and sour. The palate is medium to heavy, grainy, syrupy, and thick. Overall, this is a nice, malty, and balanced stout.

Draft. Hazy maroon color, solid beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of light chocolate and subtle caramel. Taste is smooth sweet chocolate, butterscotch, light spice. Medium body. Nice.

12 ounce bottle, no bottle date. Pours crystal clear dark brown color with a small fairly dense 1 finger light tan head with good retention that reduces to a thin lacing cap. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, oats, and some spicy hops. Some nice and decently strong aromas here. Taste of big roasted malt, chocolate, oats, spicy hops, and caramel. Nice amount of bitterness present on the finish; with lingering notes of spicy hops, caramel, and chocolate. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly nice and creamy mouthfeel despite slightly high carbonation. Decent balance of flavors as well, but spiciness seems to take the prominence. No alcohol noticed except for a small warming after the finish. Overall a solid and drinkable porter, but definitely not memorable.

12oz bottle. Opaque black, thin beige head. Fruit laced pungent chocolate aroma, suppose it’s the oats. Certainly an interesting Porter, dry bittersweet chocolate, somewhat oily. Medium bodied, very drinkable. Remains a Porter despite incorporating some Stout characteristics. A touch of coffee, smoke. Excellently balanced by some mild hops and bitter cocoa tones. Nice.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malty and caramelish. Mild malty and caramelish. Bitter and dry malty into the finish. Ends dry and bitter.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of sincereNC. Pours a dark orangey brown with an off-white head. Sweet roasty nose with some vanilla. Medium body, roast and dark fruits with some malt bitterness. Straight and drinkable without any fuss. 220611
