Sample from the girls at Plaza Liquors in Tucson, thanks! Clear brown, small tan head. Aroma of caramel. Taste resembles a sweet scotch ale. Not bad.

Clear brownish pour - minimal, soda-like lace - roasty nose, with notes of hazelnut, toffee, toasted bread - medium sweet, with a fair amount of balancing hop bitterness uncharacteristic of the style, but it works - caramelized sugars - a touch of raisin and date - burnt grains - hints of roasted nuts - moderate acidity through the middle - finishes a bit like burnt caramel corn, which is a bit of a turn off - decent, but the finish derails it.

Bottle pours a crystal clear deep amber with a small quick fizzy tan IPA. Brown sugar woody carmel aroma with a touch of apple butter. Flavor is a bit thin. Woody here as well, and fairly sweet. ore light smokey brown sugar. and maple syrup. Not Aunt Jemimah, I’m talking the real stuff from Vermont. A touch of coffee and lots of lightly toasted malts Plenty of sweetness, but feels like it has fermented down pretty far. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Douglas88 Pours out a dark amber topped with a small tan head. Aroma of grain, sweetness, a little pit fruit and wet malt. Tast more of the sweetness. Brown sugar, spice, and a little milk chocolate. A nice brew from Utah no less.

Thanks to Douglas88 for this bottle. Beautiful clear ruby color with a good beige head. Aroma of roasted caramel with a touch/hint of smoke. Full body with near creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet roast caramel, but there are notes of coffee and smoke. And hints of fruit. Finish is moderately sweet, and there’s not much hop bitter. But the whole thing is a feast for the mouth.

12 oz bottles from State Liquor Store (SLC) and Douglas88. Nose of brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, and a background plum note; dark rusty red with a medium beige head; flavor has some coffee, caramel, nuts, and fruitiness. Finish is a very light bitterness and alcohol warmth.

Bottle curtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours copper with thin head. Taste is malty with caramel and toffee. The 8% abv is noticable.

12oz bottle pours a stunning clear amber with thin tan head. The aroma is big and nutty with some roasty to biscuit malts joining in for good measure. The taste is much the same with a nutty almond – filbert – hazel nut nuttiness that is rich and goes deep into the experience. Behind that I get medium roasted malts and some biscuit. I find that the malty nutty sweetness builds up beyond a level I find comfortable with. Just becomes overly too sweet for me.

12 oz. Bottle. Last of my trade hail from Douglas88; thanks dude. Amazing that no other double bock thought of the name "Devastator." Pours a rich dark amber color, well filtered, rocky white lager head. Smell is rich and malty with a touch of smoke; or is that phenol? Taste is heavily malty, with some melted brown sugar and a bit of grainy texture. Some sugary/saccharine overtones that seem out of place. But this goes down pretty quickly, with no overtones of alcohol, so I don’t have too much room to complain. Clean lager finish except for some malt stickiness.
