Bottled. Medium brown pour. Not much head really. Mild aroma. Some malts. Fairly carbonated. Not much finish.

Bottle. Whow, this is great. I think this is suppose to be a seasonal beer but I believe they should make it all the time. It has a nice dark amber color. Nice lace and head. Good aroma and man, the flavor is nice and malty , with good balane. Now I remember why I love dark german style beers.

Pour is a nice clean dark amber with a large white head. Aroma a nice caramel and molasses. Flavor is more heavy caramel malt but this is not sweet. Finish is thick and malty. Pretty good beer of a style I don't usually sample a lot of.

Notes from May 2009 Baby growler fill of this kid bock over at New Beer. Poured into a generic tumbler. Lots of activity. Bottom up, it has as much activity as a glass of Coke. Tawny in color, with a quarter inch of thinning-out fizz. Smell is a little weird at first. A little vegetable-y with a convincing whiff of sour cream. The end of it gets a little cola, but just not enough. Warming up, more of a numbing/spicy bitterness that's all too out of place. Carbonation is great, but it's simply just cutting through water. Taste is of light wheat bread, in second place: charred malt, a much lesser amount of mixed vegetables, with mineral runoff & bitter tea on the somewhat lingering finish. There's a desperate need of alcohol here, as it tastes a good bit like Goya Malta, or some other similar travesty. No phenols, no doughy feel, very noticeable corners cut. A very piss poor attempt. : -

Bottle from my parents poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a semi-burnt dark orange to amber color with a little white cap of a head that fell off at a moderate pace. Slight lace.
The aroma had some caramel malts, dark bread, touch of roast, sweet wood, earthy and grassy hops and a little bit of butterscotch at the end.
The flavor was mainly sweet through the prior mentioned aromas to slide into the aftertaste and follow through on the finish.
The palate was almost medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Pretty smooth along my tongue.
Overall, pretty nice bock always nice to have this time of the year.

From a bottle. Dark amber with sizeable tan head, faint malt aroma. Thinnish, not as rich flavored as you would expect for this style. Finish is not unpleasant, but not exciting either. Drinkable, a nice Yuengling.

Bottle @ home, via trade. Pours a bit hazy rust orange appearance with a cream colored head. Twangy nutty, burnt toasted malty aroma. Decent body. Flavor is kind of nasty. Caramel, burnt cracker, char. Scroll past this garbage.

Pours mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head crackles and recedes to skim surface. Toffee and molasses aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and toffee upfront turning to mild bitter earth in the medium length finish.
