12 ounce bottle, 7/2/16. Clear dark copper, thin fizzy tan head, fair retention. Aroma of toasted malts, toffee and mild roast. The taste is toffee, berries, mild roast. Medium bodied, almost chewy. Solid beer.

Dried leaves aroma earthy with treacle accents, not strong. Ruby brown, hazy, medium yellow head, minimal lacing. Dried leaves, cherries, and elderberries, wood on the back end. Medium body, moderate carbonation, alcohol well concealed. I don’t have a lot of experience with the style, it’s not my favorite but I enjoyed this one. I think this a style that just must be served from a cask.

Sampled on draft at Dad?s Pub this beer poured a dark nut brown with a medium sized foamy-creamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was toasty and nutty with a vague floral and fruity hop note. The flavor was toasty, nutty and bready with a bit of wood and moderate bitter floral hops. Very long finish. Medium body. Alcohol well controlled. Ok
