Sampled from the tap at All Pints North. Pours a clear brown with a bubbly light brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice dark grain note with roasted malts and a hint of chocolate underlying. Flavor has chocolate and dark grains with light roasted malts and a hint of toffee.

Minnesota Beer Trip #215. Keg at the brewery, 5/13/16. Dark brown, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, cherries, plum. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, plum, nuts, citrus. Medium bodied.

Tap at the brewery. This was good. Fairly thick palate, lacing head. Roasted grain, surprisingly some wheat, a little sweet like a dunkelweizen. A little coffee, and a hint of chocolate. I do taste the lactose, which works in this beer. Earthy finish. Heavy palatw and the higher alcohol is hidden.
