Slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a relatively large, three centimetre tall off-white head on top. Aroma of grass, dry grain, some citrus and a light bit of grassy hops noticeable. Light-bodied; Sharp astringent flavour of the malt at first with a tiny bit of grass, a little herbs and some lighter floral notes throughout without any pungency, bitterness or deep off-putting flavours. Aftertaste shows a very elegant malty flavour with some grass, light floral notes, herbs and a dose of bread and pure yeast flavours that show a dry and lightly herbal flavour, complete with some mellow malts and a touch of the alcohol. Overall, a nice and complex (especially for the depth of flavours) finish with some dry grain, a bit of yeast and ending with a balanced grain and herbal element that shows almost like a lager with a touch of citrus than an ale. Nice to sample and well worth trying if you can get this - the beer is complex and deep, and largely just because it has this particular yeast strain. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Trader Joe's in Bailey's Crossroads (Skyline), Falls Church, Virginia on 17-September-2017 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington on 19-January-2018.
