Sample from a bottle this beer poured a nut brown color with an orange hue and a medium sized foamy orange-tah head. The aroma was sweet with vegetal malts, a bit of dark fruit and tobacco. The flavor was sweet but astringent with tobacco, a vegetal note and fruity hops. Very long finish. Medium bodied and smooth.

12 ounce bottle thanks to hershiser2. Thanks Adam! Clear copper, thin foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, bready malt, cherries, spice. Taste is toffee, bread, cherries, anise, spice, candied lemon. Medium bodied, mild lingering spice. Nice.

Super crisp and clear deep amber coloured body with a copper glow, along with a ruby tint and a smooth, single to two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of metal, light grasses, some citrus and a touch of grain along with a noticeable amount of alcohol towards the finish. Medium-bodied; Strong grainy malt note with a lot of alcohol noticeable at first that warms quite nicely along with some grape and pure nutty flavours towards the end that also show a touch of caramel at the finale. Aftertaste shows mainly malt notes with a bit of peated malt, some caramel malts and a heavy hand of just plain nuts towards the end that show some astringency as well. Overall, a nice and well-structured beer that has some good flavours, but the complexity just isn't there, or the range in flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Shopper's Food Warehouse in Falls Church, Virginia on 05-November-2018 for US$1,67 sampled at my brother-in-law's house in Monroe, Connecticut on 21-November-2018.
