Cask by handpump, shared with Finn at The National Winter Ales Festival. Bubbly ring to the edge of the glass. Almost jet black in body appearance. Earthy malts and grain to the nose, semi-sweet. Roasted malty taste joined by hints of chocolate and ginger. Bittersweet finish, half-dry. A well balanced and likeable brew (Manchester, 23.01.2013).
