(Keg at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20251107) The beer poured clear and almost black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, burnt malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, burnt malts, light sweetness, lightly coffee and medium bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coffee and bitterness. A tasty burnt brew with grassy notes.

Ein sehr schön abgestimmtes Schwarzbier, in der Nase malzig mit deutlicher Röstmalzaromatik, dazu leicht hopfig, im Mund relativ schlank, eine leichte Süße die durch die Hopfenbittere gut gepuffert wird, viel Schokolade, aromatisch und leicht röstmalzig.

Gravity pour at Zumen. Dark brown with beige head. Biscuity, roasted, some nuts. Slightly hoppy. Drinks easy.

Tap at Zum Franziskaner, Stockholm, with my old friend Petteri, pours black, aroma is malty, caramel, roasty and light nuts. Taste is caramel and roasted malts, cocoa. Not bad

Pours mid-brown, looks almost black in the glass. A couple of fingers of a slightly off-white head which shows decent persistence and lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: dark bread, lightly roasted malts, a bit of coffee, the slightest hint of spiciness. Taste notes follow the aroma, with a delicate cola-like foundation to give it a bit of refreshing feel. Medium to high sweetness, light to medium bitterness, but still very much in good balance, with a relatively dry, clean finish. Pretty light in body, more than you would expect in a 5.2% abv beer, with average, small-bubbled, soft carbonation. Resulting in a very easy, smooth mouthfeel. Overall: maybe not too deep, but a well made, highly drinkable schwarzbier.

Ordentlich dunkel, Schwarzbier eben. In der Nase Malz. Im Trunk herb, röstig, leicht Schokolade, etwas Kaffee, feine Süße. Lecker.

Vom Faß in der altertümlichen Brauereigaststätte. - Tiefes Kastanienbraun mit rotgoldenem Schimmer. - In der Nase warmes dunkles Malz, Karamel, zart säuerliche Noten. - Antrunk schön dunkelmalzig mit feiner Kaffee-Röstnote und etwas deutlicher fruchtiger Säure (Johannisbeere). Schwache Anklänge an Cola. Schlank aber nicht dünn, angenehm mineralisches Mundgefühl. Im Abgang zurückhaltende aber nicht zu milde, aromatisch krautige Hopfenherbe. - Eher ein Dunkles als ein Schwarzbier, mit aromatischem Malz und schöner zarter Fruchtigkeit.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher beige Schaumkrone. Geruch süß röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschmack röstmalzig, süß karamellig, leicht schokoladig.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice creamy head. Starts intense malty, mild roasty, mild dry background. Modest sweet. Finish a bit milder, but not washy. Well balanced malty finish. Nice!
