Disappointingly this is not black, just a very dark brown with a slight red hue. Not much head but the aroma has a mild smokiness. it’s has a fairly weak body.

Cask at Wellington, Birmingham
Very dark color, almost black, with creamy head. Mild aroma of roasted malt and some manure. Soft mouthfeel, light body, with some roasted malt flavor, light acidity from the roasted malts; correct bitterness. The final is maybe a bit too dry.
Balanced, dynamic, very drinkable beer.
