(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20120908) The beer poured pale golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were white wine, malts, fruitiness, white bread and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A bit weird but still quite nice brew.

Cask-conditioned at the Cafe Royal, Edinburgh 7/06/2011. Deep gold with a decent white head. Aroma of grapefruit, apricot and sweetish malts. Flavour had more slightly soapy fruit leading to a tart finish. Good.

Cask (handpump) @ The John Leslie, 45 Ratcliffe Terrace, Edinburgh, Scotland EH9 1SU.Clear medium orange colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light moderate hoppy, citrus - orange, lime, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, peel bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101029]

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and slight bitter grassy. Fruity and slight bitter citric. Dry and hoppy. Bitter and slight citric dry finish .

Cask in a field between Oddington & Charlton on Otmoor, for ’The Hangy’ (New Zealand event) 09.10.10 Pours light amber with good clarity with nice white head. Initial honey and buzzy bitterness, bit of ginger. The hops start to shine and are quit soapy hops. sweet grapefruit, lovely beer, bittersweet finish. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask @ Ayrshire Real Ale Festival 09. Light golden colour, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, fruits. Flavour: hoppy, citrus, fruits, bitter, dry malts. Easy drinkable. Good stuff.

Draught Short-lived white head over old-golden beer. Fresh citrussy hops, nearly USA rather than UK ones, roasted soup dumplings. Sweetish beer, malty, with a good kick of hops, ending grapey. Light bodied, more citrus in the aftertaste. Very nice session beer.

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized creamy offwhite head. Aroma is very fresh fruity hops. The same goes for the flavour along with bigtime caramel. Very refreshing beer.

Cask pint at NERAX on 5/3/07
Being a big fan of Kelburn, I got a full pint of this bad boy, not knowing what to expect. "Full bodied" said the description. Well, let’s just say, it wasn’t lying. How they got so much body out of a 5% golden ale on cask, I don’t know. It was incredibly difficult to finish though. Mostly bright, beige-to-muted-gold color with a strong white head and moderate lacing.
Some paper, lots of breadiness and strong fruits (nectarines, peaches) in the nose. Just an ever-so-slight hint of sulphur. Very creamy and "full" without being overly aromatic. Definitely has a touch of wheat dryness and lots of dextrines, seemingly. Honey-almond notes and lots of whitebread on the finish. Typical funky, almost farmy yeastiness. Hops showed bitterness, but seemed to be minimally aromatic, only releasing a light, nutty, floral scent.
Incredibly strong body is immediately perceptible in the flavor. Almost chewy, the beer is a mouthfull and then some. Lots of bland biscuits, lightly sweet cream and white dough with some lemon sugar cookie notes that seem to be the most flavorful part of the beer (though still not very flavorful). Dextrinous or starchy or something, it really isnt that sweet, just full. Carbonation is moderate, but a little loose, not really bolstering the mouthfeel. Lots of fruitiness and lightly bitter hops, but the biscuity, bready, grainy malts show through the strongest. No alcohol perceived, no flaws in the flavor. Definitely unique....
