On draft at Churchkey in DC. Pours a cloudy amber with a frothy off white head. Feint aroma of grape soda. Flavors of caramel with some hop bitterness. Somewhat thin for a barley wine but tasty.

On gravity at Bristol beef festival, 16/3/2013. Deep gold with a slight white head. Sweet berry fruits and malts, a touch of citrus hop, with a hint of spice and moderately bitter finish. Alcohol was very well hidden. Enjoyable.

Hazy amber color. Medium head. There is some malt aroma, but light. Malt flavor, moderate sweetness, some vegetables hint, more Strong Ale than Barley Wine. Quite strong bitterness.

Bottle at Nate’s Massive Birthday Kernel Piss-Up. Pours clear gold with some sediment and a big, white head. Toast, light caramel, some booze and banana in the aroma. Lightly aged malts in the flavor, more toffee, subtle alcohol, toasty sugar, faint leafy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, full on malty sweetness, not too much bitterness, some toffee and fruits. Very nice beer.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a bit of sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Slightly hazy amber beer. Pale cream coloured head, small and suddy. Smooth semi dry palate. Sweetish rich malt. A little dried fruit. Caramel malt. Nice.

Bottle 750ml. w. swing top.Clear medium amber orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, raspberry - strawberry juice. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, light strawberry, moderate raspberry, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110518]

Cask, gravity at Banbury Beer Festival 05.05.11 Pours a murky hazy brown which tries to and sort of succeeds in nearly clearing. Big nose of fruit, sweetness dark sugars and alcohol. I’m really not sure about this, tastes a little like rocket fuel and a tad disjointed if truth be told, loads of alcohol and too much sweet cloyingly sugaryness still present, also a bit rough around the edges. Glen helped me finish, but we both struggled with this as did a chap the other side of the bar. Not my thing at all but hats off to them for having a go at something like this. I generally like Green Jack and have had a lot more from them than I have rated and enjoyed their beers, but this one just isn’t for me. A6 A2 T5 P2 Ov11 2.6

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is spiced, yeasty and light malty. Sweet, bitter hoppy and grapefruity. Bitter and dry hoppy finish.
