500ml bottle [Freibergisch Freibier qua Freiburger Freigebischkeit, danke bartlebier!]. Quasi black colour, a ruby red glimmer can be resurrected by dint of backlighting, on top an average to huge, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Dark malty liquorice aroma, hints of malt lozenge, a herbal and rusty metallic touch. Taste is dry, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge and chocolate come along with subtle sweetness, herbal and metallic overtones, roast and rust. Happily no flattering sweetness, sadly slightly too metallic.

*Old rating, best before 02.2009. Schönes malzig-intensives Schwarzbier. Schönes Röstmalz, frisch-herb, schokoladig mit leichten Lakritznuancen. Lecker.
