Brewed in the style of a mid-19th century English Festival Ale, this unfiltered wheat beer displays a translucent orange color topped with a creamy, white head. Wheat enhances the mouthfeel of the beer and produces pleasant bread-like notes while Michigan honey provides a caramelized sweetness in the flavor profile. This beer is spiced with orange peel and coriander and small amounts of three hop varieties pleasantly counterbalances the sweetness.

This wheat ale poured a cloudy orange colour with a nice big foamy, off white head. Scents include citrus, hopps and grass. First taste was smooth and creamy with flavours of oranges, hopps and grass. Not much caramel like stated in the description. Finish is slightly watery but lightly bitter with hopp flavours lingering. Palate citrus and bitter hopps flavour. Not bad.

12 oz bottle purchased at Lukas Liquors in Kansas City, MO. "A 5" stamped on bottle. Pour is slight haze golden, big 4 inch crackling white head. Head looks like soap bubbles and falls pretty fast with no lacing. Aroma of sweet floral wheat. A bit overly sweet for a wit. Taste is soapy sweet, some floral, some grassy spiciness. Wheat is in there too, but behind the sweet and spice. Palate is slick and a bit cloying.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Hazy amber color with a frothy beige head. It’s got Xmas spice aromas. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is spicy, but it’s got a little dirty graininess. Seems to be some ginger or similar. It gets better with time. Tastes like it came from Belgium. Spice takes over at the finish. Interesting drink. Bet it was a hit in 1850.

12oz bottle. Was expecting a white ale of sorts...not the case. Pours a deep cloud brownish-orange color. Creamy mouthfeel, with some amber malt coming through. The honey gives it slight mead-like qualities. Drinkable and enjoyable, but I don’t really pick up much wheat at all, probably because the honey covers up some of those subtleties. I really began to enjoy this beer more towards the end.

Apple, candy, and cream aroma. Hazy amber color with absolutely no head, even with an aggressive pour. Very medicny taste, with apple notes throughout. Apple core finish. Rather like a belgian witbier. Not to my liking., although I have really enjoyed other beers from this brewer.

Can on 08/20/2011. Slightly hazy golden body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet orange and coriander aroma. Dry wheat, citrus, and spice flavor. tap at the brewpub - Pours hazy golden with a medium sized head. It has a wheat and citrus aroma. The flavor has very ample citrus notes playing around in sweet malts. It’s medium bodied, lively, and very easy to drink. Very good.

Arcadia Whitsun. Sweet perfumy aroma out of this 12 oz brown bottle. I’ve had arcadia hopmouth and it was as the style expected. I am very excited because this is rated as a wheat, one of my favorite styles. When I bought it I saw whitsun and thought it may be wheat related. Nice layer of something on the bottle, things are looking up. Cider colored with a cloudiness typical of wheats. Yes hints of sweet smell in there. A little bitter initially for a wheat IMO. Also a little syrupy it seems the thistle honey makes this apparent. This really has something different about it, it must be sampled to fully discover its personality. Not as good as shiner hefe, SA hefe or lienie honey weiss. This almost has the characteristic of some strong ale I’ve tasted. Finish is too gooey for me. Will pass on this if it comes round again, not what I think of as a wheatie. However, I like this better than hopmouth. I’ve tasted pale lagers that are more wheatlike than this.

Pour is a cloudy orange with tons of floaties and a huge white head. Aroma is decent. Some hops show up along with a a nice dose of citrus fruits. Flavor is also ok. A nice fruityness is present along with some fresh hops and a nice tart finish. Don’t know about a wheat beer, this is almost a fruit beer with peach being the strongest taste. Still quite tasty and refreshing.

An unclear beer with a thin disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of oranges, and a dusty hoppy note. The flavor is sweet wheaty with clear orange notes, leading to a dry wheaty end. Quite nice.
