Poured into a chalice, the appearance was a clear golden yellow color with a rim of white foamy head. That quickly died and left some sliding messy lace.
The aroma had some semi-sweet dried apricot fruitiness flowing over some honey and grainy malts. Some spice that I couldn’t put my finger on with some noticeable alcohol content.
The flavor mildly blended the prior mentioned aromas mostly sweet. Light banana moved in. Aftertaste was alcohol, banana and apricot and then dove into the finish in the same sort of way.
The feel was about medium bodied with somewhat sort of sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV seemed as projected but the noticeable level of \"boozy\" hot burn in this didn’t seem as controlled as I normally get in a true Belgian Tripel.
Overall, when I first started drinking craft beer, I really liked Harpoon’s offerings back then, but now I think to myself, what happened?

Sample at SBWF 2016. Golden with a white head. Sweetish with fruit, yeast, malt and some hints of spices. The body was rather thick. An ok one.

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Caramel, overripe banana bread and clove aromas. Soft with sweet hot caramel and banana bread upfront turning to bitter earth in the warming peppery finish.
