Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly cherry forward with light vanilla notes. Moderate chocolate and roast notes with light bourbon and faint oak. Hints of alcohol spice. Pours black with a medium sized, thick, mocha head that recedes to a small film that lingers. Medium light lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with lots of chocolate and a bit lighter roast notes. Faint leather and tobacco. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol notes. Quite a bit of cherry with faint vanilla. Light bourbon and faint oak. Lingering bitterness, roast and cherry. Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit sticky with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but the cherry notes are too strong and conflict with the bitterness and roast notes.
