Cask @ The Oxford, Kentish Town, London NW5, UK today. Amber coloured bitter with a small, white lacing head which dissipates to zero after around 20mins. Aroma commences with bready yeast notes then develops nuttiness. Flavour bordered on the savoury with very slightly salty tinge; moderately bitter in the initial kick with a finish that becomes increasingly dry, hoppy and long. Zingy textured mouthfeel. The flavour survived after eating a plate of the pub’s excellent fish and chips.

Cask (Queens Head, Chelmsford): Amber coloured, small, but firm head; slightly fruity, a bit malty, mainly "medical" aromatic hoppy nose; light sweetish, mainly robust bitter flavour, light bodied; slightly sweetish-fruity and very aromatic, herbal-hoppy finish. A well rounded, hearty, tasty bitter !
