500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of chocolate, fruity and spicy overtones with a touch of plum, cherry, cinnamon, nutty undertones, reminds of chocolate covered gingerbread. Taste is minimally dry, dark malty, subtle sweetness, hints of malt lozenge.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, malty, modest dry. Light sweetish notes. Finish almost a bit washy, very mild. Could be more intense, but okay.

Bottled, from Biershop Bayern. Mahogany colour, mid sized firm head. Nutty aroma with notes of pear and grass. Mid sweet with medium body and soft, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Velvetty nutty bready malt dominates. Drying finish with slight bitterness and hints of grass. Quality all the way in this relaxed, quaffable dunkel.

Bottled 500ml (BZ, BB 01/2012)
Clear amber color, small off-white head. Grassy, woody malty aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Caramel malty backbone, soft palate in the middle then some late maltyness. Sweetish dunkel, as such not bad.
