In times long gone, this bold archer was both feared and worshipped on the British Islands. Best known for his cranky character and dark moods.
Barley wine brewed with British malts and hops. Traditional English crystal and amber malts provide a deep rich palate of toffee, walnuts and marmalade.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB 3 2017, large sample. Hazy copper color, medium firm rocky head. Aroma of toasted malts, bit flowery, toffee, biscuit, earthy. Malty sweetness in taste, toast, slight spicy, soft bitterness, slight alcohol. Not very outspoken. Ok beer.

Thick cream head over fully dull dark reddish brown beer. Sweet chocolate, dry cacao powder, dark green leaves & wood. Bitter, woody, black chocolate in the taste; again cacao powder. Bittering hops, dry. Rather well-bodied, quite slick, good carbonation. Aftertaste is even more dry, resiny, hops cropping up. Good on most point, but nowhere exceptional.

Bottle shared with Countbeer @ train tasting. Murky brownish color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, caramel. Don’t really feel like properly rating it. It tastes like some sort of bock or amber ale with a higher ABV. Decent body and carbonation. Meh overall.

Tap @ In de Wildeman, the night this was launched, with the A’dam RB clan. Dark brown color. Stiff, uneven off white head. Aroma’s: light vegetables, some roasted malts, fruits. Ratronasal it’s roasted, caramel, bitterhops. Flavor is rather bitter, with some carames sweetness. Medium bodied. Finishes rather bitter, roasted, bitter chocolate. Apart from the veggie aroma rather enjoyable.

0.15 l on tap at ’In de Wildeman’ courtesy of the brewer, thanks! Slightly hazy, red amber with a thin, frothy, tan head. Faint, sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, raisins, prunes and some nuts. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, raisins, prunes, some molasses and some vegetables, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat. Okay, not great.
